AG Healey has been a national leader in holding subprime auto lenders accountable. The AG’s action against CAC is part of her Office’s ongoing industry-wide review of securitization practices in the subprime auto loan market. The AG’s lawsuit also contained allegations that CAC failed to inform investors that it topped off securitization loan pools with higher-risk loans. The complaint also alleged that some CAC borrowers were subject to hidden finance charges, which resulted in violations of the state’s 21 percent usury cap and that CAC engaged in unlawful collection practices. The AG’s lawsuit noted that while the company profited from these loans, borrowers experienced credit harm, and, in some instances, lost their vehicles or down payments. Specifically, the lawsuit alleged that CAC made high-interest subprime auto loans that it knew or should have known many borrowers would be unable to repay. The AG’s Office sued CAC in August 2020 over the company’s practices relating to the origination, collection, and securitization of subprime auto loans. Over 3,000 borrowers across the state are expected to be eligible for settlement funds, including many residents of marginalized communities in Springfield, Boston, Worcester, and Brockton. ![]() The settlement, which was filed today in Suffolk Superior Court, requires CAC to pay a total of $27.2 million, and provide debt relief and credit repair to thousands of Massachusetts borrowers. So, even though you don't want always be out of mana, you want to be low on mana so you have more mana regen. I commonly mix 3 autos in between each ability while clearing, even though 1 of them is a basic, no passive auto. Instead of constantly Q auto auto until you run out of mana, simply basic auto instead of spamming Q until E and W are available. The amount of mana Q takes gives Taric heavy mana issues which CAN be handled properly. Q costs a lot of mana, even at low levels. You will want to always use your E first, W second, and Q last while clearing. (repeatedly doing Q auto auto until E is back off of cooldown). As his passive holds 2 charges, a very common combo for clearing a camp would be auto E auto auto W auto auto Q auto auto Q auto auto. At peak clear speed, Taric would have his passive up at all times, mixing abilities in between autos to keep the passive going. How does it clear? Sorry to waste your time Darwin, thank you. I have a system with Yosemite and TF 1.9.3, using the large 444x444 image, and it works fine. Strangely this MAY only be an issue with combination of El Cap 10.11.6 and TF 1.9.x. If you have Retina display, the system is going ignore the “regular” png file anyway and use the one ending in ‘ which are double the size of the regular version. probably best not to exceed 128x128 just be safe. From what I can tell, most of Apple’s default folder icons in CoreServices.bundle/Resources do not exceed 128x128 and all use 72 dpi. So the moral of the story for everyone, is whatever Apple icon you are replacing, including custom sidebar icons, be sure to use the same pixel size and dpi as Apple’s original, or in the case of a custom sidebar icon, don’t get larger than 256x256. ![]() When I resized the png file to 128 pixel sq at 72dpi, which is the same size as Apple’s default finder.png file, Viola! the custom icon displays correctly even after TF loads. I realized this seeing the error in the Console log right after TF finishes its injection routine. As noted, the image is fine prior to TF loading, but once TF loads, it results in calling Generate Image again and the second call fails. For some reason that behavior changed via some combination of TF or macOS GenerateImage routine in El Capitan, once TF loads. macOS would scale down the image as needed based on the Dock size. I had been using that same png file of that size with previous versions of TF prior to 1.9 with no problems. The size of the PNG file I used for finder.png was 444 pixel square at 72dpi. That call, I believe, does retrieve the ‘finder.png’ file in the Dock.app resource folder. That function call appears to initiate a recall to the Generate Image routine called by ‘icon services agent’, which takes the image in the PNG or ICNS file of a resource and generates a raw pixel image that the system can use to quickly display, and then caches it. Then I thought well maybe I can use reverse thinking, change the /Applications/TotalFinder.app/Contents/Resources/TotalFinder.bundle/Contents/Resources/TotalFinderLarge.png file and set preferences to use the TF dock icon, but now with code signing, it is not possible to modify the TF.app (which is understandable)Īny idea why this behavior changed? I have another system still using TF 1.8.2 (both are running El Cap) and the custom Finder icon in the Dock displays correctly. The minute I open Finder (and therefore TF as well), after a few seconds, the icon in the Dock changes from my custom icon back to the Apple default. If I clear the cache and restart the Dock, I BRIEFLY do see my custom Finder icon. I am very aware about the need to delete icon cache and restart Dock, etc, so that is not the issue. Since version 1.9 and higher, the Dock now displays Apple’s default Finder image in the dock (i.e. Prior to versions of 1.9 of TF, if I had the preferences set to Keep Original Dock icon, the Dock would display the custom Finder.png icon that I substituted in System\Library\CoreServices\Dock.app\Content\Resources\finder.png. ![]() ![]() ![]() and in Europe, and the resistance he encountered when requesting each stand of strings to play with opposite bowings. I remember Stokowski’s rehearsals in the U.S. When guest-conducting, this request caused orchestras much grief and displeasure. One of his most famous habits was to demand that the strings play with free bowings. But he also made conscious efforts to request specific playing from his orchestras. Part of what Stokowski did to obtain his kind of sound must have been unconscious, a reflection of his gestures and approach. In fact, with Eugene Ormandy, this sound continued in the same tradition, but naturally acquired some changes over the years. It became known as the “Philadelphia sound”. Stokowski’s idea of sound was unmistakable and special, and it remained with the Philadelphia Orchestra for many decades after Stokowski’s departure. What has happened? Do performers listen to each other’s recordings and unconsciously imitate one another? Are today’s performers afraid to take chances, and want to be literal to the point of excluding personal approach? Why has the sound quality of many orchestras become so similar? ![]() While technique and performance standards seem to have improved, there is a world-wide unanimity of approach that makes many performances copies of each other. Sadly, most orchestras today have acquired a similarity of sound. Some ensembles, such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, had very few changes in personnel, and a vast majority of the musicians had been trained by the same teachers, in the same school. But conductors were not the only decisive factors. These differences were partially the result of conductors spending long decades with their orchestras. There was a time when orchestras had a distinctive quality that set them easily apart. This theory works in both extremes and also in the present reality of music-making around the world. It would be a natural reaction to the conductor’s idea of sound, acquired after years of listening to a specific quality of sound. While it can be argued that the students would sit up, concentrate, and do their best when confronted with a known personality, the change in the actual sound quality they produce would be involuntary. It seems logical that if a conductor who has spent years directing the Vienna Philharmonic has an encounter with a school orchestra, this group will soon sound smooth and refined. The degree to which that produces a dramatic influence is related, partially, to the sound that has become imprinted in the conductor’s memory. It has to do with the sound the conductor has imprinted in his ear, and the conductor’s ability to produce that same sound from any orchestra. This has nothing to do with the technical aspects of performance. It is not unusual for the sound of a professional ensemble to acquire some of the characteristics of a student group when working under the direction of a school orchestra conductor. This was not a talent unique to Stokowski. One explanation could be that Stokowski had a special sound in his mind, and his gestures and facial expressions had the ability to communicate this sound to any orchestra. There was nothing that he had said or done to make such an obvious change, other than to start rehearsing after a minimal greeting. ![]() The sound of the orchestra would change within moments of the first encounter with Stokowski. This is from the article written by Jose Serebrier who I am talking allot about this and future surround recordings written about Stokowski transcriptions: I think this is not just a great question but also a need subject to discuss for us as a surround sound activists in music community: ![]() ![]() ![]() The resulting reduction of sensation is associated with degeneration of epidermal nerve fibres, which is at least partially reversible ( Nagy 2004 Nolano 1999 Simone 1998). Enhanced sensitivity is followed by a refractory (unresponsive) period with reduced sensitivity and, after repeated applications, persistent desensitisation. There is an initial excitation of the neurons and a period of enhanced sensitivity to noxious stimuli, usually perceived as itching, pricking or burning sensations.
